5/3/2008 Set out in the dark in front of catfish 10fow we were doing triples and one quad at one time "I don't think it mattered what was down there they were hungry and we were on the fish! Finished up 5 for 25 the explanation for our landing ratio is bass fisherman can not catch these fish!! I Wont say names but I was in the cabin and client #7 set the hook and put put me on the floor.
5/2/2008 Out on the lake with guys from Herkimer this is year 22 with the same group! We came out of the mouth of the little salmon made a right set up in front of sage creek. We started the morning off with some light action off the riggers in 22fow monkey puke stinger down 4 had a monster on first light he came up out of the water "gave the capt the middle fin" then swam into the sun rise with his stinger. We ended up hitting 3 more then the sun was high and and the wind came up out of the north
4/29/08 The river in the pm the only time to fish spring steelies. We set out plugging for a half day trip, Every hole produced two fish from altmar to pineville. 10:22 awesome day.
4/27/08 River Fishing is out of this world for these steelies. Set up in the barrel, little stockers on every cast with the big guys mixed in. The fast water below the wire hole held many fish until 11:30, when it shut down there we moved to the muskrat and were on the fish. we were busy all day, we fought fish every where we stopped. All fish were on floats and all fish were on the power worm.
AM: Out on a turkey hunt with a client set up in the dark rain set in at 5:15am called randomly we had some talkers and at 8:15 they began to stroll by hens a lot of hens bird 14 was a nice tom when given the ok to shoot the gun remained silent there was some confusion as to distance and what a tom is and how to identify a male bird, we will reconvene on the river.
4/26/08 Lake Fishing Same story big south wind 15-25 gusting to 35 cold water everywhere. Hit doubles landed a football in front of selkirk sun came up had a big guy bouncing across the top and line broke at the net brown smithwick was the ticket for the big guy and the monkey puke stinger for the landed fish.
4/24/08 River a lot of fish everywhere on beds spawning. Float Fishing with center pins I love it. At a loss for words its just great fishing.
4/23/08 - right now we are experiencing the best steelhead fishing we have ever had, without a doubt! Mark, Harry and I went out in the pm with video producer Captain Ryan to film a dvd on center pinning and LANDED 45 fish! We had someone cancel for this weekend, are YOU NUTS!!! If you want the steelhead trip of a lifetime, get up here in the next week! For the non-believers, it is all on film.
4/20/08 River Is to high had to fish on the Lake we went out made the right. Fishing is hard, south wind for days hit a few in front of selkirk cold water everywhere alot of trees and junk in the water when moving from creek to creek the water gets clear and colder.
4/19/08 Lake Fishing out the mouth start the kicker (have to give it a name open for suggestions email me ideas) make the right and go till we find fish. Mark (big sexy) hit a few in front of sage creek in 8fow. We made a few passes and had nothing go, moved north and were on the fish just south of sandy pond fishing was good from the Slab to sandy pond. Monky Puke stingers were the ticket we landed 3 and lost more.
4/18/08 On the River started in the bubbles hit some lil dinkers moved out of the area into the tail of the school house had some good fish on pink worms had three break the light leaders, while drifting threw the wire hole we hit one on pink egg sack, Barts stone flies with the green tail were on fire until we lost the half doz of them after Harry gave me a tip over the phone, we moved to the head of the muskrat and were on the fish. Fish are starting to move onto beds at first light making fishing easy picking.
4/17/08 On the River on time same guys we started in the lower school house hit 3 good size and big time fighters, pink worm was the ticket. We moved down to the bovines and had some on but landing them was tough, moving down hit several in snag on white egg sacks all in all it was a good day warm weather and hitting fish what more can you ask for?
4/16/2008 In the Big River, the water went down yesterday and the guys showed up over two hours late. Out of the launch at 7:30 we hit three in the lower school house moved down to ellis cove and had one on and lost it
4/12/2008 SPRING BROWNIES BABY!!!! With big water (5000cfs) in the salmon river it was the lake or nothing, with some of the guys from Conn. We made a quick run to the silo and a pass in front of catfish in under 8fow nothing went had some big marks when we set up down 18 over 25. At 7:15 the phone started ringing off the hook in front of Selkirk mud water with debris and fish we ran over and the day was quickly made with some doubles and triples had 7 hit the net. Black and gold was the trick with one rainbow thunder stick hitting well. It was Tom Haines and Zeke with the save for the day thanks guys.
4/3/2008 The boat hit the water today, new motor and new kicker with auto pilot.
