In the late 1950’s Robert
Burdick bought a small fishing camp on the shore of Lake Ontario.
His first boat was a 12 ft aluminum with a five horse out board
motor. In a few years he became known as the best fisherman in the
bay. "They said he could catch fish out of a five gallon pail".
Robert’s love for the lake and his children were soon to collide. In
the early 1980’s Robert’s son Joe who had spent hundreds of hours
fishing with his dad was easily coaxed onto the Great Lakes Minnow
to mate for Richard Simoneau. After a few years of mating aboard the
minnow, Now Captain Joseph Burdick purchased the Fishing Vessel
Salmonoid in 1987 a 27 foot sports craft.
Joe’s love for all outdoors then inspired his son Your Captain
Daniel Burdick who has fished competitively on Lake Ontario Since he
was seven years old. The family has been fishing competitively and
professionally on the lake for over 50 years.
